Why Does Zefram Cochrane on TV star trek so different than in the ST Movie?
Zefram Cochrane on the old TV star trek was a nice, mature, sensitive guy. Then, when the next generation folks did a movie about him, he became a big baffoon who liked rockabilly music.
As far as “Star Trek” canon goes, this question has never been answered. In fact, it was sort of overlooked altogether when “Star Trek: First Contact” was filmed. The producers of “First Contact” felt that the Cochrane character should be something different, and therefore cast him as such. I believe there’s an “extra feature” on the DVD of this movie that talks about this.
